Friday night after a particularly stressful day at work, I drive over to Las Margaritas on Cheshire Bridge Road to have a mojito (no, not a margarita) and meet up with some old friends who have come into town. Later that night we go back to grab the boy and some liquor from the store near my house, and then back to another friend’s house to play Beatles Rock Band into the night.

I’ve felt a little better the past couple days at work, but only because I see the light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak. One of my coworkers mentioned to me that she indeed agreed to take over the position I have right now so that I can be demoted back to what I was doing before, and that means that there is a definite replacement.
First, a book update:
- The Help – Kathryn Stockett
- Narcissus in Chains – Laurell K. Hamilton
- Perfume: The Story of a Murderer – Patrick Süskind
- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn – Betty Smith
- The Time Traveler’s Wife – Audrey Niffenegger
Last night I had this dream: I am standing outside in my yard, where fresh snow has fallen. We’ve just come from robbing someone’s house, going through their attic where the creature is hiding.
I’m sort of upset about a few things right now, and I just realized that the reason why I’m stuffing my face with honey, mustard & onion pretzels is because I’m upset. And that I’ve been eating these things and I didn’t even realize it until the bag was empty.
I should really be careful of these things, you know?
- Blindness - Jose Saramago
- Burnt Offerings – Laurell K. Hamilton
- We Need to Talk About Kevin – Lionel Shriver
- The Julius House – Charlaine Harris
Well, that concludes the month of April. A busy month.
Didn’t get to read all that much because I’ve been busy adjusting to my new work schedule and inviting people over more. My evenings are busier too, and I haven’t gotten to read for the standard hour that I’m accustomed to.
This month, however, is looking good. There are a few things I have lined up:
- The Help – Katherine Stockett
- Narcissus In Chains – Laurell K. Hamilton
- Perfume: The Story of a Murderer – Patrick Süskind
- Stardust – Neil Gaiman
I suppose that’s all for now!
