J.K. Rowling, J. R. R. Tolkien, Stephen King, George R. R. Martin, Patrick O’Brian, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, John Irving. Less-read but still loved include Phillipa Gregory, Anne Rice, Jane Austen, Tom Wolfe, Ian McEwan, Anya Seton, Garth Nix, and others. I try to read some of everything and everyone, although for sure I have a crippling weakness for horror, dysfunctional childhoods, and historical fiction. And short stories of any caliber.
