My shoulder popped out at the gym yesterday. The cynical part of me, constantly whispering, felt that of course this would happen–it’s been too long of a stretch of progress without a climbing injury. The last one I had was probably something involving my biceps. The last actual tendon injury I suffered was my hamstring, about four years ago.
So here we go. Today it is difficult to raise my left shoulder; I will probably treat it like a dislocation and immobilize it soon for a little while, and then stay off it for a few weeks. Once it’s safer to rehab it slowly, I suppose I will also need to work toward a plan where I consistently strengthen my shoulder base again.
